Three Boys & Girls Clubs Go Solar in Georgia: A Step Toward Sustainability

In an exciting move toward sustainability, three Boys & Girls Clubs in Georgia are embracing solar energy to power on three facilities. These clubs, located in Brunswick, GA have partnered with Zero Grid Power Solutions to install solar panels, reducing their carbon footprint and lowering energy costs for decades. Totaling over 120 kW across the three facilities and over 290 solar panels.

The transition to solar energy is part of a broader push to make community centers more eco-friendly while keeping operational costs low. With solar power, these clubs can redirect savings into expanding youth programs, enhancing educational resources, and providing more recreational opportunities for children in underserved areas.

This initiative also provides an invaluable educational opportunity for the children involved. By seeing firsthand the benefits of renewable energy, children learn about sustainability and environmental stewardship—lessons that will stay with them long after they leave the club.

Not only does going solar reduce energy dependence, but it also serves as a model for other organizations looking to cut costs and help the environment. As Georgia continues to lead in solar adoption, these Boys & Girls Clubs are setting a strong example of how community-focused institutions can take action to combat climate change and create a brighter future for the next generation.
